Being informed is an important part of making the right decisions. When it comes to the medications you take and how they may affect your overall health, it’s crucial that you know the facts. Our PROfile programs will keep you up to date on topics that affect you and your family.
Nonprescription Consulting – Many nonprescription and natural products provide over-the-counter relief of a great variety of symptoms, but they are still ‘drugs’. They may interact with other medications or pose an allergy risk. Ask your PROfile Pharmacist which product is right for you.
Health Inform
Your PROfile Pharmacist may ask if you would like to be enrolled in this free service if you are prescribed a medication contained on our list of available programs.
This service may provide you with:
- Information on the medication you are taking, including proper use and what you should expect from your therapy.
- Lifestyle changes to help you feel better such as diet, exercise or stress relief.
- Explanations of the disease or condition being treated.
PROfile Information Sheets – For every new medication you fill at our pharmacy, the pharmacist will counsel you on the things you need to know to take it properly. You will also be provided an information sheet that goes into more detail about the specific medication and may be used for your reference.
PROfile Brochures – Our PROfile brochures are designed to provide up-to-date information on medical conditions, medications used to treat them, non-drug therapies and lifestyle changes, as well as a list of other resources you may find helpful. Learn More.
Diabetic Meters & Training – At all Sobeys Pharmacy locations, pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy students are trained on various health meters in order to assist patients in choosing the best one for their needs. Appointments are encouraged and made a priority, but walk-ins are accepted based on time availability.
Health & Wellness Days – At select locations, your PROfile Pharmacists hold Health and Wellness Days throughout the year. Topics include Heart Health, Diabetes, Bone Health, Sun Protection, Healthy Eating and much more. Your PROfile Pharmacist is available to discuss these issues with you. On certain Health and Wellness Days your PROfile Pharmacist may be able to test your blood sugar, total cholesterol, and measure body fat percentage.
